the plight of the cracked

Take control of the nutcracker and set out on your sacred task: Slay the King of Mice so it may never torment dear Lady Marie. Explore the fortress city of Mausolia and battle the king's henchmen along the way. 

This game was built for the B1T Jam 3 with the theme Offering. It is centered around the idea of an action-oriented soulslike, inspired by the Fairy Tale Der Nussknacker und der Mausekönig by E.T.A. Hoffmann (better known in its  ballet adaption The Nutcracker by Pjotr Iljitsch Tschaikowsky). 

If you reach the end, offer the relics you've found at the throne of Mausolia and leave a message for other brave nutcrackers to enjoy. 

Note on Balancing and fall damage: We last-minute-tuned (literally) the falling damage and it is still very much a little bit excessive. Nevertheless, during testing we 've successfully reached the Mausekoenig' lair in the end. You'll absolutely need to take the shortest drop every time, though. This is due to a technical issue and will be improved in a post-jam-release, but in the meantime we hope everyone gets a chance, despite the really tight hp budget for those jumps.

Please be sure to take the checkpoint in the throne room before taking on the jump (and also offer your findings!).
